Christmas Day

Christmas day has come and gone. I think we got just about every drop of holiday happiness out of this Christmas, from the kids show and the joy of watching them perform their first show, and the happiness of seeing them learn to witness and give the Lord’s love, to all of the festivities we enjoyed as a home and area. I feel very blessed! Thank You, wonderful Jesus!
We celebrated as a home with a few activities. On Christmas Eve we got all our kids together and Jesus came in (it was Sam Peck this year) to tell them how proud He was of them for all their giving, growing, good choices, etc this past year. Then He gave them each a new pair of PJs and told them to change and go snuggle in their beds, and when they would wake up there would be some gifts from Him to them. It was very cute.
After the kids were tucked away we all got together for our Christmas Eve celebration. We gathered around our fire place in PJs. Someone got a beautiful pnp, we had snacks and Martinis and Chinese presents.
This is a fun gift giving game where each person contributes a gift, wraps it and puts it under the tree. Everyone picks a number from one through however many people there are.The person who drew number 1 goes and gets whatever gift they want. The person who drew number 2 can either pick another gift from under the tree, or steal the gift from person number 1. Person number 1 gets to pick another gift. Person number 3 can either steal from person 1 or 2 or get a new gift, and on it goes in this fashion. The thing is that each gift can only be stolen three times, and once the last gift is picked up from under the tree the game is over. It’s fun, good bonding.
It was a wonderful relaxed evening and we all enjoyed each other’s company.
Christmas morning we had a much needed Coffee Bar, with happy spiked coffee topped with whipping cream. Good stuff! All our happy ever eager kids opened presents and we had much happy mayhem for a while. When the kids all scattered to play with their gifts, we grown ups opened the gifts from our Angels.
The day ended with a simple, but yummy, Christmas dinner. I also watched the Holiday, which is a good Christmas movie, very sweet. And that was that!
