Our New Home
Tuesday, March 27th, 2007Yes, we made it! It’s wonderful to be in a home again. Our trip was like any 15 hour trip with a toddler who thinks that car seats are a crule restraint and is determined to break out of it. Other than that, though, it was without incident and we arrived safe and sound, TYJ.
We spent the first few days getting set up and firguring out where to put our mountain of stuff, but we did figure that out and now we are actually nicely set up. There are a lot of things I like about our new place, the kids have a room adjoining ours, which is perfect. There’s a nice big yard, a barn that Sam is dreaming of renovating, but I dont’ think he’ll be so luck as the renovations will likely be applied inside. A handyman’s work is never done!
We have a little kitchen set up in outside our room, which is kind of cool. So far I have only discovered one thing that is a bit scary, there is no dryer here. When I learned this I have come up with some militant solutions to keep the kid’s clothes clean for longer than one meal. On the up side, however, it is much better for clothes not to go through endless dryer cycles and I won’t have to worry about shriking Sam’s shirts like I just did before we left.
We are looking forward to our new lives here, course, the thing that makes any home is the people, and so everyone has been wonderful, so welcoming and made us feel like family right away. Thanks, we love you already!
